School Days

First Day of School
We are back to school - 3 weeks now.  Coleman is in 2nd grade and Campbell is in Kindergarten - all day Kindergarten.  For Coleman, school is just old hat now, and he is eager to show Campbell the ropes.  Coleman has been accepted into the Gifted Program and we will soon be meeting with the program director to develop a personalized program for him.

I was afraid that Campbell was going to be bored in Kindergarten but I think the social aspect of the classroom will really be helpful for him.  Anyone who sees Campbell at home knows that he is a loud, dramatic, imaginative little guy but to see him at school or church he is very quiet and reserved.  He is incredibly observant and can repeat verbatim what has gone on in class. He is making new friends and loving school.

Addison longs to be in school also, as evidenced by her relentless use of the word "WHY?" It is a vicious cycle that never ends.  She works on her "homework" throughout the day and runs to the bus stop to greet her brothers with a hug each afternoon.

The boys were both excited and anxious the first day of school.

And the rain just made the first day more memorable.
