Bang 'Em Up!

Thus far, October has been a bit of a rough month for us.  Cooper discovered that he could move by kicking his feet.  Unfortunately, I discovered it after he had done a back flip off of our ottoman landing face down on some cans.  A bit of a terrifying moment, but there was little to no bruising and he was kicking away again, only now he stays on the ground.

Campbell and Coleman joined Marc for a round of golf.  The boys are excited to start golfing with their Dad on a more regular basis and I must say I am all for it.  Riding in the cart is one of the highlights but this last time, Campbell wasn't hanging on in the cart and on a sharp turn, went flying out of the cart, crashing hard onto the cart path.  He banged up his back, elbow and hand but was quite brave.

Finally, our family went ice skating last weekend for the first time ever.  It has been nearly 2 decades (ugh - can't believe how fast time goes by) since Marc and I have been ice skating.  It was the first for the kids and they were AWESOME!  All three of them took to the rink on their own.  Campbell and Addison held onto the wall often but they were moving quickly around the rink on their own.  It was rather crowded with lots of kids crying and clinging to their parents.  People were impressed that these little guys (especially Addison) were going around by themselves.  Grandpa Tony came over to watch them and stay with Cooper while we skated. He coached Coleman with some great skating advice and Coleman really improved from start to finish.  He wore 3 pairs of underpants as a precaution - and it was a good idea - lots of falls.
After a couple of hours, Mom and Dad were ready to hang up the skates but none of the kids were so we decided to go around - just one more time (for the 3rd time).  We hadn't taken three steps when Addison got tangled in my skates.  We both went down and she slid down the ice on her face.  OUCH!  But again, she was very brave - tears lasted for only a moment and she was off and running.  I bruised my hand and scraped my elbow and felt like a baby each time I winced.  Addison never once complained and she had a lot more to complain about.  The next day she said, "My face feels pretty comfortable.  Unless I touch it and then it hurts."  Comfortable?  She's a funny girl.

Hopefully, we can all make it through the rest of the month with no more bumps and bruises.
I have video of us skating.  I'll try and post it later.
