Our kids have all come between 2-3 weeks early. Thus far, Mikey Ponyo looks to be our biggest baby yet and waiting the longest. Campbell and Coleman were born by now and Addison in a day or so. I think this one may very well may wait for his due date!
Mikey Ponyo has decided to take his sweet time joining our family. Contractions started while we were in Utah just two days before we were to come home. We were rather worried we might have a baby on the plane but he just held on. Marc and I spent the weekend in the hospital last week sure he was on his way but again he changed his mind. Contractions have been painful and down to 2-3 minutes apart but this baby still hasn't wanted to come. If the contractions would just stop, I'd be ok with him hanging out for awhile but enough is enough - I'm hurting and I'm tired. Fingers crossed he makes up his mind to join us before he gets too big and I end up with a c-section.
Other news for our family - we were quite concerned about the boys' school which changed their start time next year from 8:30am to 7:30am. That would mean our boys would have to be at the bus by 7:00am so up by 6:30am at the very latest. Miserable. Luckily, everyone else thought so as well and the school board changed their minds. Now the boys are back to being excited for school to start at the reasonable hour of 8:30am.
Coleman was tested for the gifted program and tested in the top 1% of his age. Mighty proud of our smart little whippersnap. Campbell was reading away while Coleman was being tested and the psychologist was impressed and said she looks forward to testing him for the gifted program in the fall.
Addison is now officially potty trained. Who knows about the setbacks that may occur once the baby comes but for now - it's wonderful. She even stays dry at night! And the secret for our potty training success? Chocolate. That's how you know she's my daughter. M&M's and chocolate covered raisins - all a girl needs.
We've been blessed to have my mom out with us since we came back. She has been amazing - helping with the kids and the house and the meals. I feel awfully pampered. I don't know what we'll do when she heads home. Luckily, she plans to stick around for a bit after little Ponyo comes.
