Our family has unofficially adopted a neighborhood alligator. We passed it by in the car one day and now look forward to each of our visits. It's a good size alligator - over 5 feet and we have fun watching him bask in the sun, cool off in the water and eat an armadillo. Note to self - #1 - Keep kids back at all times as they are very curious about our new large friend. And #2 - Our new buddy does NOT like to be watched while he eats.
In the top picture and the one below is the sad little armadillo after Mr. Alligator killed it and then tossed it away from himself because we were watching. Note the devilish red eyes!
The kids posing with their new pal - if you look further behind them you can see him. I had to convince the kids that it wasn't all right to walk down the path to get a closer look of Mr. Alligator.
